Thursday September 29th - Steve Inkpen reported 5 Spoonbill feeding on an island in the Workings early morning.
This is a new site record count for Spoonbill. This is only the 4th recorded sighting of Spoonbill on site. Spoonbill is the 144th species of bird to be recorded on site this year.

John Hunt reported a Green Sandpiper, 18 Snipe, 30+ Wigeon and a Peregrine this morning.

Andy Little reported 2 Snipe, a Skylark, 4 Swallow, a Peregrine and 2 Buzzard today.
In addition, Richard Horton reported 10 Redwing today (the first of the Autumn).
Saturday October 8th
Mark Elsoffer reported 30 Lapwing, 70 Wigeon, 8 Skylark, 4 Redwing, 4 Swallow, 2 Stonechat, a Kestrel, 4 Buzzard and a Sparrowhawk this morning.
In addition, Dave Baker reported a Tufted Duck x Pochard hybrid and a Common Gull (the first of the Autumn) this afternoon.
In addition, Tony Cummins reported 13 Snipe, 2 Yellow-legged Gull, a Red Kite and a Peregrine this afternoon.
Dave Baker reported a new species for Tice's Meadow: Red Underwing moth (Catocala nupta).
19 volunteers met on site this morning and successfully erected a
barbed wire fence around the plot of land that will become the Bells
Piece Field. This field will be used by the residents from the Farnham
based Bells Piece Care Home (for adults with learning difficulties) to
grow their grain crops as part of their horticultural activities.
A massive thank you is due to all the volunteers who gave up their time to help with this worthwhile task.

Tuesday October 11th
Paul Ormerod reported 8 Bearded Tit this afternoon.
This is only the 2nd recorded sighting of Bearded Tit on site (3 were present for 10 days in September 2015).
This is a new site record count for Bearded Tit.
Bearded Tit is the 145th species of bird to be recorded on site this year, taking us past last year's total of 144 species.
Wednesday October 12th
Richard Horton reported 60 Redwing, 50 Meadow Pipit, 50 Linnet, 50 Goldfinch, 4+ Bearded Tit (in the Reed beds) and a Ring Ouzel (over Horton's Mound and into the Bike Field) this morning.
This is only the 2nd recorded sighting of Ring Ouzel on site (1 was seen in 2002).
Ring Ouzel is the 146th species of bird to be recorded on site this year.
Thursday October 13th
Mark Elsoffer reported a Green Sandpiper, 6 Snipe, 11 Lapwing, 3 Little Grebe, 6+ Bearded Tit, 8 Stonechat, 6 Goldcrest, a Redwing, a Raven, a Red Kite, 2 Kestrel and 6 Buzzard today.
In addition, John Hunt reported a Great White Egret this morning - arriving from the South, the bird was on site for approximately 90 minutes.
This is only the 2nd recorded sighting of Great White Egret on site (1 was seen in June 2014).
Great White Egret is the 147th species of bird to be recorded on site this year.
