Blackwater River Festival

We're excited to be taking part in the Blackwater River Festival (between September 21st & 29th) - a week of activities across the Blackwater Valley being run by the Blackwater Valley Countryside Trust.

We're hosting a guided walk, moth trapping evening & river work party - all free public activities:

New Hide

Our new hide is under construction by Containers & More - these photos show it just before painting. It'll be delivered on Friday 6th September, and installed by Hanson 4 to 5 weeks later. We can't wait!

Late News


Steve Bailey reported a Golden-ringed Dragonfly in the river on Tuesday August 13th. A heathland stream species, this is only the 5th record for site.

NB:  John observed that this is the same flock of Greylag Geese, which includes a leucistic bird, which left the roost at Fleet Pond the previous morning and feed at Tundry Pond.

Steve Minhinnick found a new species for site today: Centre-barred Sallow (Atethmia centrago).
