Following a recent meeting, we were left with no assurances over the sale process or the ultimate future of the site, and serious questions were raised over the future of the Tice's Meadow Bird Group and the future of the site as a publicly accessible nature reserve.
The below open letter to Hanson's CEO & board was posted today, signed by over 40 local conservation bodies, residents groups, youth groups, councillors and political parties.
We are not asking for Hanson to not sell the site, all we are asking is for
Hanson to consider the suitability of the new owners, and leave a
sustainable legacy for the local community.
