Saturday 8th August

Dave Baker: Crossbill (over) and Tree Pipit (over).

Richard Seargent: Common Sandpiper, 5 Green Sandpiper, 3 Dunlin, Ringed Plover, Greenshank, 20+ Lapwing, Kingfisher & Peregrine.

Crossbill is the 129th bird species recorded in 2020. 4th site record, last recorded 26/11/15.

Tree Pipit is the 130th bird species recorded in 2020. 14th site record, last recorded 22/09/18.

Richard Seargent: Lesser Emperor (Anax parthenope) - new for site. At least 2 pairs seen ovispositing in front of the hide. 26th odonata species recorded on site, and the 3rd new odonata species recorded this year. First recorded in the UK in 1996.

Kevin Martin: Golden-ringed Dragonfly.

Thanks to the volunteers who cleaned out the hide this morning. It's now open to the public after 6 months underwater.

Redstart is the 131st bird species recorded in 2020. 9th site record, last recorded 18/09/19.

Mark Elsoffer: 19 Common Sandpiper, 5 Green Sandpiper, 5 Ringed Plover, Turnstone, Greenshank, 8 Snipe, 34 Lapwing, Little Egret, Great White Egret, 2 Common Tern, 14 Swift & Hobby.

Yellow-legged Gull is the 133rd bird species recorded in 2020.

23rd site record of Wood Sandpiper, the 2nd in the past month.

16th site record of Turnstone, the 2nd in the past month
