John Hunt: 3 Common Sandpiper, Green Sandpiper, Dunlin & Sedge Warbler.

Sean Foote: Swift, 15 Buzzard, 3 Red Kite, Sparrowhawk & 2 Raven (all in one kettle circling over site).

Dina Burford: Great White Egret, Little Grebe (juv) & Hobby.

Sean Foote identified the following 6 new species for site:

  • Lumpy Bracket (Trametes gibbosa),
  • Brown Roll-rim (Paxillus involutus),
  • Felted Twiglet (Tubaria conspersa),
  • Ruby Bolete (Boletus rubellus),
  • Scaly Earthball (Scleroderma verrucosum),
  • Clustered Domecap (Leophyllum decastes).

Wednesday 2nd September

15th site record of Whimbrel, last recorded 21/04/19. 137th bird species recorded on site this year.

Sean Foote identified the following 10 new species for site today:

  • Ivy Bee (Colletes hederae),
  • Blushing Milkcap (Lactarius controversus),
  • Fairy Inkcap (Coprinellus disseminatus),
  • Glistening Inkcap (Coprinellus micaceus),
  • Sticky Scalycap (Pholiota gummosa),
  • Charcoal Burner (Russula cyanoxantha),
  • Cinnamon Webcap (Cortinarius cinnamomeus),
  • Frosty Funnel (Clitocybe phyllophila),

Stu & Stuart from the BVCP were on site today with their tractor, filling ruts and cutting along the track in preparation for next week's path laying work.

A massive thank you to all the Tice’s Crew who gave up their Sunday to be marshals at the Farnham Pilgrim’s Marathon - a Covid secure event that raises thousands each year for local charities.
