Thanks to Oli and Jake, the Kiln in Badshot Lea now has six new Swift nest boxes. Oli also cleaned out the Barn Owl nest box and repositioned the external camera.

Oli, Richard and Mark spent the morning at the Kiln. First they wired-up the newly repositioned external camera on the Barn Owl box. Then they positioned the concrete blocks that will be the footings for our new storage container.

Our new community tool store arrived at the Kiln this morning. This was partially funded by the Co-Op Local Community Fund - thanks to all the Co-Op members who chose us as their local cause.

Rushmoor Borough Councillor Sophie Porter arranged a meeting this evening between Surrey Police, Hampshire Police, local residents and politicians (including Hampshire County Councillor Bill Withers), to discuss cross-border cooperation in the policing of Tice's Meadow.

Friday 19th November

Mark Elsoffer: Green Sandpiper, Snipe, 2 Little Egret & 3 Ring-necked Parakeet (19th for site, 6th this year).

Rushmoor Borough Councillor Sophie Porter arranged a meeting with Surrey Police on site tonight. We had a productive chat about the policing of the nature reserve, and the importance of local residents reporting crime and anti-social behaviour to 101.

Saturday 20th November

28 volunteers cleared a large area of willow from the reed bed at this morning's work party - giving the reeds a chance to flourish, and improving the view from Horton’s Mound at the same time. Thanks to Andy & Sharon for the baked potatoes!

Roger & Slasher were bird ringing at the feeding station this morning.
