I I was introduced to this wonderful place by a dog walker a friend of mine as I’ve just taken up photography and looking forward to having some nice times
ReplyDeleteJust go there, walk around & enjoy a tiny part of England that is not run by selfish people who care only about themselves, or march through our towns telling us we are all going to die next week.
ReplyDeleteGo there & simple enjoy being out in a place that asks nothing from you but can give you so much, if you have the wit to see it.
My haven during the COVID-19 lockdown.
ReplyDeleteJust seen (23 May) my first Spotted Flycatcher of the year alongside the "island" path.
Counted 12 Common Terns on the roof of the hide.
In late Jan/early part of Feb, I witnessed a great flock of large birds (size of pigeons, but not) flying over the pond. It looked as if they were exercising, and would be in the air for up to 10 minutes. It was fabulous to watch the large numbers. They were white on the one side and when they turned, they were black. Can anyone help ID them for me. I'm a birder from South Africa. Many thanks, MariGold
ReplyDeleteSounds like Lapwing - we can have 100s on site over the winter - when they get spooked by a raptor they all take to the air in one big flock.
DeleteFirst time there today. What a beautiful place. Will be visiting a lot more. Thank you to everyone involved in looking after it
